- Similar to wide screen TV that uses a 16:9 aspect ratio screen size, the PC's equivalent wide aspect ratio consists of several modes one of which is 1280 x 768. With 1280 x 768 number of pixels, there is 25% more display area than the 1024 x 768 resolution of an XGA display. - The SMK480WX17 is rack-optimized, and meets EIA-310C & IEC-297-3 specifications. Its clam shell, pull-out drawer includes a keyboard and LCD while requiring only 1 rack unit of space. The LCD flips up for use and folds away for storage. A momentary switch automatically turns off the display when you fold it down. The entire unit is mounted on ball-bearing slide rails so it slides effortlessly in and out of your equipment rack.
- User friendly KVM switch controls
- The SMK480 console switch consists of an 8-port keyboard video mouse switch providing
a convenient solution for controlling multiple computers. The KVM console switch lets you
control up to 120 PCs or servers by supporting cascading of additional KVM units.
The switch supports hot plugging of systems so you don't have to power down the KVM to add or remove PCs and features auto-scanning of connected systems and systems on cascaded installations. Using the KVM can't be simpler, using a combination of on-screen menu and keyboard-mounted pushbuttons, the KVM scans for connected PCs and the operator uses the pushbuttons to select the desired PC either by number or by name. Assign unique names, rather by port numbers, to connected computers makes it easier to identify the computer in a network environment. - External AC power supply
- The SMK-480 is easier to maintain by its use of external AC adapter for the power supply. The AC adapter offers input fused protection, over-current and short-circuit output protection. It is UL, CE, FCC certified and rated for at least 100,000 hours of operation.
- Flexible rack mounting
- Ball-bearing slide rails with rack mounting front and rear brackets are mounted on the unit. The rear mounting flange can be extended to more than 38 inches.
